PRODUCER
Aeschylus launched Hawkeye Pictures as the Executive Producer on the feature film SLEEPING GIANT. Prior to Hawkeye, Aeschylus was a Producer at Foundry Films (CAIRO TIME, THE BANG BANG CLUB), where he co-produced Ruba Nadda’s thriller INESCAPABLE, starring Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei, and Kate Melville’s acclaimed PICTURE DAY, starring Sundance award-winner Tatiana Maslany; and at Blue Ice where he co-produced the mini-series The Book of Negroes and the thriller OCTOBER GALE, starring Patricia Clarkson. Aeschylus actively forges relationships with domestic and international partners, broadcasters and distributors.

SONYA DI RIENZO
PRODUCER
Sonya is a Toronto-based producer. She worked at award-winning production companies Rhombus Media (Slings & Arrows, BLINDNESS) and Whizbang Films (Reign, The Good Witch) before co-founding Hawkeye Pictures. She has produced film, television, and multi-platform content, including co-creating the anthology Little Films About Big Moments (HBO Canada). She is an alumna of EAVE Producers, Tiff Talent Lab, Women in the Director’s Chair and WIFT Scripted Series. She currently shapes Hawkeye’s slate of feature films, documentaries and series for the worldwide market.

HAWKEYE PICTURES burst out of the gate with its inaugural project, Andrew Cividino's feature film SLEEPING GIANT which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival as a Semaine de la Critique selection, and has gone on to win numerous national and international awards including Best Canadian First Feature at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Hawkeye aims to drive the market through its production of high-quality content, moving stories and the spark that creates lasting connections with audiences. Hawkeye’s projects have been selected at prestigious international festivals including Cannes, TIFF, SXSW, Locarno, BFI London, Busan Clermont-Ferrand and Hot Docs. Sheila Pye's THE YOUNG ARSONISTS and Clement Virgo's BROTHER enjoyed world premieres at tiff, earning critical acclaim during their festival runs, with the latter sweeping the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards with a record 12 wins including Best Motion Picture. BROTHER was also honoured at the 2024 NAACPs in Los Angeles, winning Outstanding International Motion Picture and Outstanding Independent Film In 2023, the feature documentary MR. DRESS UP: THE MAGIC OF MAKE-BELIEVE, clinched the People’s Choice Documentary Award at tiff and went on to win 5 Canadian Screen Awards.
Hawkeye is committed to pushing boundaries and exploring different points of view. Recent releases include Sook-Yin Lee’s PAYING FOR IT (tiff2024, tiff Top 10), from the best-selling graphic novel by Chester Brown,; THE PLAYERS from Sarah Galea-Davis (Best Director, Best Actor CFF'25); and the award-winning, four-part international doc series WHO OWN THE WORLD (CSA'25 Best Factual Series). Simon Ennis & Brad Abrahms’ documentary feature GIMME SOME TRUTH; the feature films THE BANQUET by Gloria Ui Young Kim and NEVERMAN by tiff, Sundance and Berlinale talents lab alumnus Rodrigo Barriuso are all currently in post-production.
